Country star Emmylou Harris has been charged with a hit and run following a car accident in October.
The singer reportedly bumped her rental car into another vehicle on a freeway in Los Angeles on 1 October and drove off without stopping to exchange insurance information with the other motorist.
California Highway Patrol bosses opened an investigation into the case after the alleged victim filed a police report, and now Harris has been formally charged with the misdemeanour.
If convicted, the 65 year old faces up to six months in jail, according to TMZ.com.
