The new James Bond film has now passed Toy Story 3 to become Britain’s second highest-grossing film ever.
According to newly-released figures, Skyfall now trails only Avatar at the domestic box office thanks to a gross of $118 million .
The new 007 adventure snagged $1.9 million on Tuesday evening alone, according to estimates from Sony, taking the film from fifth place to second.
The new Bond film still has some way to go to pass Avatar – the 2009 sci-fi drama grossed $149 million in Britain.
