WENN was in the front row last night while Liza Minnelli belted out her hits onstage in Sydney, Australia….

But has the diva been telling tall tales down under?

She recently got us all in a flap when it was revealed she’d shot a cameo role in the new Sex and the City movie.

Not only that, but she’d be performing Beyonce’s Single Ladies dance routine at a gay wedding between Stanford and Anthony.

And Barbara Streisand would be there too.

But it’s all a lie… says Mario Cantone, who plays Anthony. There’s not even a gay wedding!

Mario tells our pals at NYPost.com’s PopWrap blog, “No, nothing’s true. I hadn’t even read that. That’s hilarious.”

And the Minnelli cameo: “No, I would have self-combusted! I would have been dead. I wouldn’t be here talking to you. I don’t even know that she’s in the movie.”

So who do we believe?
