T.I. exhausts appeals, set to report to jail after long weekend

T.I. will appear at prison on Tuesday to begin a year-long sentence, as scheduled — a judge has denied the rapper’s request to have the report date pushed back.
The man behind “Live Your Life,” real name Clifford Harris Jr., is due to turn himself in to authorities by noon on 26 May to begin his 366-day jail sentence, which he received back in March following his ‘07 arrest for illegally possessing a weapon.
T.I. filed papers on Thursday asking to have the sentence delayed by ten days, a period which ostensibly would have given him more time to secure a cell in a minimum-security prison near his home in Atlanta, Georgia.
But on Friday afternoon, U.S. District Judge Charles A. Pannell Jr. nixed the request, ruling that T.I. must report to authorities in Forrest City, Arkansas on Tuesday as planned.
T.I.’s lawyer Donald F. Samuel told AllHipHop.com, “There is nothing more we can do. We think he was scored the wrong way.”
