Still waiting for more details, but CNN.com reports that Kung Fu star David Carradine “has been found dead in a hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, according to his manager.”

Carradine is pictured above at a screening in L.A. earlier this year.  More details as we receive them…

UPDATE 10:50 AM EDT: According to AP, Carradine was found in his room by a hotel maid, hanged with the cord used to operate the curtains; he’s believed to have taken his own life.  Carradine was in Bangkok to shoot a film and did not appear for a meal with the crew on Wednesday; he couldn’t be contacted after that.  Unidentified police sources told Thai paper The Nation that Carradine had been dead for at least 12 hours by the time the body was discovered, and there was no sign of assault.

U.S. Embassy rep Michael Tucker confirmed Carradine’s death, but out of consideration for the family he did not furnish further details.  An agent for the Kill Bill actor has contradicted the suicide reports, saying he believes Carradine died of natural causes.

UPDATE 6:30 PM EDT:

Carradine’s rep has now confirmed the actor’s death was accidental.

The un-named spokesperson tells TMZ.com, “We can confirm 100 per cent that he never would have committed suicide. It was an accidental death. Everybody is in shock.”

This, plus quotes attributed to a Bangkok cop who insists the star was found with “a rope… attached to his neck and also to his penis”, suggests there is truth to the rumours Carradine was killed carrying out a sex act.
