Cancer sufferer Farrah Fawcett  has been hospitalised in California and is undergoing urgent treatment.

According to reports, the 62-year-old actress, who is battling anal cancer, has been admitted to a clinic near her Los Angeles home.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Fawcett’s partner Ryan O’Neal is trying to secure a temporary jail release for their son Redmond – who is serving time in a rehab jail on drugs charges – so he can be by the Charlie’s Angels star’s bedside.

A representative for the star says, “We are not disclosing where she is at this time. She continues to be treated for her condition.”

In a TV interview, due to air in the U.S. on Friday (26Jun09), O’Neal reveals Fawcett is “fighting for her life” but that he plans to marry her as soon as she’s well enough to exchange vows.

In April (09), Fawcett was hospitalised for internal bleeding not directly related to her ongoing cancer battle. She recently learned the disease had spread to her liver and underwent chemotherapy.
