Macca’s back on the roof

Paul McCartney shocked New Yorkers with an impromptu outdoor gig yesterday, rocking on the marquee outside the city’s Ed Sullivan Theater — before making his first ever appearance on David Letterman’s talk show.
It marked Macca’s return to the venue, 45 years after the Beatles made their U.S. TV debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, which gave the theatre it’s name.
It’s not the first time McCartney has rocked out a rooftop — 40 years ago the Beatles played their famous gig atop the London headquarters of their label Apple Records.
All a bit more impressive than his ex-wife Heather Mills’ recent attempt to stage her own gravity defying stunt.
