Mariah Carey turned fairy godmother in London last night to switch on the Christmas lights at the Westfield Shopping centre — without the kittens and doves she apparently wanted to unleash at the bash.

The singer asked for 20 white kittens and 100 doves…

Umm… Don’t cats kill birds?

Maybe she wanted to turn the mall into some bizarre and cruel bloodbath!

Thankfully, common sense prevailed.

A source tells the Daily Mail newspaper, “We did manage to source the doves that we were going to release into the sky, but the kittens proved terribly difficult.
“In the end, it was made clear that due to health and safety (restrictions), there was no way we could have the animals at Westfield. We do not allow pets into Westfield – that rule would apply for everyone.”

Bloggers have been picking on the Austin Powers star, making fun of his diminutive stature — and he’s had enough.

We’re convinced there’s a direct link between Robbie Williams’ success and the size of his quiff.

Both are looking bountiful at the moment — and it’s reassuring to see he hasn’t lost his mischievous side.

We have to give it to Robert Pattinson…He’s done his best to put off the obsessive teenage fans.

In the last few days he’s told us he stinks, is unromantic and a wimp!

But still they chase him.

This devotee was after a little more than a handshake and an autograph at a Twilight fan party in London on Wednesday.

Rob, Kristen and the gang flew in especially to mingle with the Twilight-maniacs — but we doubt ‘Miss Bite Me’ got her wish.

There are some very brave paparazzi out there...

James Gandolfini has a pretty fearsome reputation for chewing out photographers.

And he found a new victim on Halloween.

In footage posted on the Huffington Post website, Gandolfini can be seen lunging for a a photographer, who caught him shopping with his son.

The pap tells the star to "Relax, man!" but James then pushes away the camera before shouting, "I'm gonna break your f**king face!"

One word of advice for intrepid snappers -- stay away
