He’s only had a handful of movie and TV roles to date — but the 26 year old is about to become the latest comic-book webslinger, after he was cast to play Spider-Man on Broadway.

Yes, that’s right, the $50 million Broadway spectacular will go ahead next year, after financial problems derailed it in 2009.

A new producer has been hired and the Bono and The Edge-scored stage show will debut ’sometime in 2010′.

Of course it could turn out to be the biggest flop in Broadway history — but with a cast including Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming and music that’s likely to be pretty good, we think it’s going to be worth checking out.

Christopher Lloyd is a grump at Christmas – a year after playing miser Scrooge in a Los Angeles stage production of A Christmas Carol, he’s signed up to play The Grinch throughout the holiday period.

The Back To The Future star doesn’t have an awful lot to smile about these days – his Carol at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood was a big flop a year ago and last November (08), wildfires destroyed the $11 million Montecito home he was trying to sell.

Here’s hoping a little Grinch-mas magic in Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! cheers him up a bit.

And here’s an ironic titbit – Jim Carrey, who played the Grinch on the big screen, will be playing Scrooge on the big screen this holiday season.
