…That was in poor taste, even for us.  On to the actual story, namely that A League of Their Own’s Lori Petty apparently took a collar for felony DUI in Los Angeles on Saturday.

According to TMZ, Petty — pictured above at an Independent Spirit Awards party in February with a glass of what appears to be her frenemy champagne — was arrested after allegedly hitting a skateboarder with her car.  Both Petty and the boarder were treated for minor injuries, though neither was taken to the hospital; Petty posted $100,000 bail and left jail Sunday morning.

Tweed released, advertises for Pennsylvania university?

POSTED: Friday, May 29th, 2009 | 12:54 pm

jack tweed released 290509

Jack Tweed was sprung from Edmunds Hill jail (near Newmarket, Suffolk) just after 10 AM Greenwich time on Friday.  Tweed, the widower of reality TV personality Jade Goody, got an early release after serving half of a 12-week sentence for assaulting a taxi driver.  We don’t know the story behind his spanking-new F&M sweatsuit — we don’t think the school is well known outside the U.S. Northeast — but if he’s heading back to class, good luck to him.

Tweed was met by his mother Mary and his best friend Mark Wright outside the prison.  Tweed planned to put visiting the grave of his late wife at the top of his to-do list.

T.I. exhausts appeals, set to report to jail after long weekend

POSTED: Sunday, May 24th, 2009 | 3:09 pm

park 300908

T.I. will appear at prison on Tuesday to begin a year-long sentence, as scheduled — a judge has denied the rapper’s request to have the report date pushed back.

The man behind “Live Your Life,” real name Clifford Harris Jr., is due to turn himself in to authorities by noon on 26 May to begin his 366-day jail sentence, which he received back in March following his ‘07 arrest for illegally possessing a weapon.

T.I. filed papers on Thursday asking to have the sentence delayed by ten days, a period which ostensibly would have given him more time to secure a cell in a minimum-security prison near his home in Atlanta, Georgia.

But on Friday afternoon, U.S. District Judge Charles A. Pannell Jr. nixed the request, ruling that T.I. must report to authorities in Forrest City, Arkansas on Tuesday as planned.

T.I.’s lawyer Donald F. Samuel told AllHipHop.com, “There is nothing more we can do. We think he was scored the wrong way.”
