Music producer Phil Spector has been sentenced to 19 years to life in prison for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.

Spector was convicted of killing the actress last month. Clarkson was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in the foyer of the music mogul’s Alhambra, California mansion in 2003.

His lawyers are planning to appeal his conviction.

Why is this woman smiling?  Her husband just got two decades in the hoosegow.  Although the kind of person who would marry a tiny murderer with horrible fake hair is probably also the kind of person who’s happy to keep spending his record-royalties money while he’s making license plates in the state pen.

The Soloist’s Robert Downey Jr. went shopping with his wife Susan Levin and his son in Brentwood, CA on Sunday.  Why is he grinning somewhat sheepishly, you ask?  We’d be a bit embarrassed about that visor if we were Downey, but at the same time, it’s cancelled out by his impressive left bicep in this shot.

Madonna and new male accessory Jesus Luz left the “The Model As Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last night.  Is that the message we should take from this — that Luz is her muse?  Because whichever muse “inspired” the dog’s breakfast of accessories Madge has on needs to fine-tune his flow: what is going on with that head…piece…doodad?  And the driving glove, and the Raphaelite top?  And the prominent arm veins?

Madonna usually looks at least fairly chic; this seems, alas, like a misguided attempt to look “young” that doesn’t quite get over.

Oh, Dennis Rodman.  We know it’s Miami and the fashion’s a bit brighter down there, but there’s bright, and then there’s wearing a series of hideous Bedazzled baseball hats.  The promos for the upcoming episode of Celebrity Apprentice have given us to understand that Rodman will face an in-Boardroom intervention on the show this Sunday night, and between the hats and the, um, bellicose drinking habits, we’re not exactly shocked.

Our favorite part of this photo, taken at a red-carpet after-party for Rock Fashion Week: the way the red-carpet logo appears to sprout from Rodman’s hat, making it — if possible — even weirder-looking.

…or is she giving life a screencap-worthy “I Want To Live”-esque dramatic goodbye right before her head is devoured by an escaped and hungry Pac-Man? Whatever the case, the 60-year-old Jones performed at the Roundhouse in London on Friday, and since we’ve never heard of any snuff work going down there and she’s also doing a comeback tour, we can only assume they booked her in for her vocal talents. But if she didn’t at least sing “Pac-Man Fever,” that is one wasted opportunity.

All jokes aside, what is that thing on her head?
